About the Guild

Our Mission

The mission of the Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild (DFHG) is to support and promote an understanding and appreciation of the fiber arts and also to support the education and development of individual creative potential.

Overview and History

In 1973 a few interested fiber artists in the Duluth, Minnesota area formed the Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild (DFHG).  Since then, the membership has grown to about 100+ members. Read the DFHG History.

From beginners to experts…

Our membership is varied and everyone is welcome!  We are complete beginners and seasoned experts.  We are young and old. We are women and men.  We share in common an interest in the fiber arts and a desire to gather with those who share our passion. Learn more about membership.

Gathering together…

We explore and learn together through study groups, formal classes, meetings, workshops, retreats, community events and more. See our event calendar for upcoming opportunities.

During our itinerant phase and while COVID restrictions are in place, DFHG offers Study Groups and other meetings via Zoom. We will add other events to our calendar as circumstances allow.

Our Guild is currently looking for a permanent home–can you help us? If you know of a suitable studio and meeting space, please contact us at [email protected]
