About the Guild

Our Mission

The mission of the Duluth Fiber Guild (DFG) is to support and promote an understanding and appreciation of the fiber arts and also to support the education and development of individual creative potential.

Overview and History

In 1973 a few interested fiber artists in the Duluth, Minnesota area formed the Duluth Fiber Handcrafters Guild (DFHG). Since then, the membership has grown to about 100+ members. In 2021, our name changed to Duluth Fiber Guild (DFG) in conjunction with our application for non-profit status. Read the DFHG History.

From beginners to experts…

Our membership is varied and everyone is welcome!  We are complete beginners and seasoned experts.  We are young and old. We are women and men.  We share in common an interest in the fiber arts and a desire to gather with those who share our passion. Learn more about membership.

Gathering together…

As of October 2021, we have our own, newly renovated Studio space in the Lincoln Park District of Duluth. We explore and learn together through study groups, formal classes, meetings, workshops, retreats, community events and more. See our event calendar for upcoming opportunities.
